OOCORP Travel : Book Cheap Local Flights

The Federal Government has announced the reopening of all domestic airports for flight operations.

Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika made the announcement at the Presidential Taskforce (PTF) on COVID-19 briefing on Monday.

Sirika said all airports in the country including those in Jalingo, Gombe, amongst others could restart operations.

He said, “Regarding approvals for flights within the country – domestic approvals. So, all airports in Nigeria are now opened for domestic flights including those that are in private charter operations will no longer need approvals from us to operate within domestic airports in all government-approved airports and in all government-owned airports.

“However, those airports that are private airports, which I called government-approved airports that are private, the operators should check the safety status with NCAA (Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority). Such airports like Jalingo, Uyo, Asaba, Gombe, Nasarawa, Damaturu, Osubi, etc.

Visa Revalidation and Migrant Travel Guidelines

Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has issued the following guidelines for visa revalidation and migrant travels affected by the suspension of international flights and closure of airspace as international flights resumes in Nigeria.

All migrants in Nigeria, whose Permit expired between 23 March 2020 to 05 September 2020, upon presentation of confirmed return tickets, will be granted a free extension to enable them to depart the country on, or before 15 September 2020.

All migrants in Nigeria, whose Permit or Visitors' pass expired before 23 March 2020 will pay overstay penalty for the number of days stayed before the suspension of international flights and border closure, which commenced on 23 March 2020.

All resident migrants whose residence permits expired, while outside the country from 23 March 2020 shall be allowed entry into Nigeria with the expired permit on or before 25 September 2020. These returning migrants are to renew their residence permit within thirty (30) days of their arrival in Nigeria to avoid sanctions under the relevant Immigration laws.

All migrants who processed payments for Visa on Arrival (VoA) and other categories of visas from the Nigerian Missions before 23 March 2020 are to apply for revalidation. This should be done by sending a copy of the previous payments here, not later than 15 September 2020.

All migrants who obtained VoA pre-approval Letters and other categories of visas from the Nigerian Missions before 23 March 2020, whose approvals/visas expired before 05 September 2020, are to also apply for revalidation. The revalidation process requires that copies of the expired pre-approval letters/visas be sent here, not later than 15 September 2020. These categories of migrants will not be required to make fresh payments.

VoA and e-Visa payment portals have been activated to enable intending migrants to Nigeria process entry visas as from 05 September 2020.

Migrants who have obtained Temporary Work Permit (TWP) approval addressed to Missions that are closed for visa issuance should submit a complaint here. The NIS, upon receipt of the complaint, will revert with appropriate options for visa issuance.

All intending passengers are required to register via a Nigerian International Travel Portal online accessed through here.

While on the portal, passengers are required to complete the 'Health Declaration/Self-Reporting' form, upload COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test conducted in the country of departure and make payment for a repeat PCR test to be done upon arrival in Nigeria, with the options of where and when to carry out the test.

The clarification provided by the guidelines is indeed very useful to mobility managers and intending travellers. Strict adherence to the guidelines will prevent circumstances that may warrant deportation.
